Intro to World War II

On September 1st 1939, Germany invaded Poland without warning, sparking the start of World War II. On September 3rd, France and Britain were at war with Germany. Less than 7 days after, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa joined the war. 25 years before this was World War I, which was thought to end wars. It was 6 longs years of war. "From the Hedgerows of Normandy to the streets of Staligrad, the icy mountians of Norway to the sweltering deserts of Libya., the insect infested jungles of Burma to the coral reef islands of the Pacific." The Poles fought the Germans, Italians fought the Americans and Japanese fought the Australians.
